How credits work

Credits in the Research app allow you to access AI-powered features that enhance your research experience.

What are credits?

Credits are non-refundable purchases that allow you to use AI features within the app. Each AI interaction consumes a certain number of credits, enabling you to utilize advanced capabilities such as AI-assisted analysis, summaries, and discussions.

Important credit information:

• Credits are non-refundable.
• Credits expire 6 months from the date of purchase.
• Credits are not a currency and have no cash value.

Credit consumption

Currently, credit usage is as follows:

• 1 credit per standard AI response
• 2 credits for AI responses that include image analysis or generation

Obtaining credits

There are two primary ways to access credits:

1. Credit Packs: Purchase bundles of credits on a pay-as-you-go basis. These credits expire 6 months from the date of purchase.

2. Subscription: Sign up for a subscription plan that provides a monthly quota of credits.

Subscription details

• A subscription provides a set quota of credits each month.
• The monthly quota refreshes at the start of each billing cycle.
• Unused credits from your monthly quota do not roll over to the next month.
• When your monthly quota is depleted, you'll need to wait for the next billing cycle or purchase additional credit packs to continue using AI features.

Managing your credits

• Credit balance: View your current credit balance and, for subscribers, your remaining monthly quota in the app's settings or dashboard.

Subscription vs. pay-as-you-go

• Subscription: Provides a set quota of credits each month. Ideal for users who want a consistent allotment of credits and plan to use AI features regularly.
• Credit packs: Allows you to buy credits as needed. Best for occasional use or if your needs vary month to month. Remember, these credits expire after 6 months.

Choose the option that best fits your research needs and usage patterns. You can always adjust your approach as your needs change.
