Updating the app

Keeping your Research app up to date ensures you have access to the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes. This guide explains how to upgrade your app based on your setup.

Checking for updates

The Research app automatically checks for updates. When a new version is available, you'll see a notification in the settings menu of the app.

Upgrade methods

Automatic updates (recommended)

If your app is connected to your online account:

1. Open the Research App
2. Go to the Settings menu
3. Look for the update notification
4. Click "Update Now" to start the automatic update process
5. Wait for the update to download and install
6. The app will automatically restart

Manual updates

If your app isn't connected to an online account or if you prefer manual control:

1. Visit our official website: un.ms/research
2. Go to the Downloads section
3. Choose the appropriate version for your operating system:
   • macOS (ARM)
   • macOS (Intel)
   • Windows
   • Linux
4. Download the installer for the latest version
5. Close the Research App if it's running
6. Run the installer you downloaded
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation

After installation, open the app to start using the latest version.

Troubleshooting

• Ensure you have a stable internet connection when updating.
• If the automatic update fails, try the manual update method.
